Seven Singapore Restaurants Honoured In Asia's Best Restaurants 2018

The Singapore dining scene is firmly on the world map.

Now in its 16th year, the Asia Best 50 Restaurants awards celebrates the best in restaurants, service and style from across the region. Voted for by a highly prestigious team of over 300 of the industries top experts, the panel is comprised of food writers, critics, chefs and restauranteurs. From there, they set out their choices based on their best all-round experiences at the restaurants in the region over the past 18 months.

With the 2018 ceremony taking place last week in Macao, Singapore scored not one but a highly impressive seven listings in the guide. While Odette was named the best restaurant in Singapore, Burnt Ends came in at number 12, Waku Ghin at number 23, Les Amis at number 29, Corner House at number 26 and celebrity favourite, Jaan at number 44.

In other Singapore news, Andre Chiang, formerly of Singapore favourite, Restaurant Andre and now of Raw in Taipei, won this years The Diners Club® Lifetime Achievement Award.

Talking about the rest of the region, China and Thailand took home nine awards, Japan 11, South Korea, 3, while Bali scored the award for Best Restaurant in Indonesia with Locavore.
