A Work Week With Jane Lu – CEO of Showpo

Voted as one of Forbes Asia 30 under 30, Jane Lu is bringing fashion to the masses with her cult online shopping site, Showpo. From finding the next 'it' thing in fashion to indulging her love of travel, we take a look at a week in her life.

Monday

Monday

The first thing I do on a Monday is hit my snooze on my alarm before I head down to Showpo HQ. We’ve now introduced flexible work hours for our staff so if I had a busy weekend ill usually make a quick pit stop at a local café for some brekkie & of course some coffee to wake me up. Mondays are basically my catching up days, I update my to-do list, making sure I know what I want to accomplish for the week. Once I have my week planned out I then sit with all my Execs and make plans for each team. Since the whole day is pretty much planning, I love going home after a long work day and catching up on some Netflix.

Tuesday

Tuesday

On Tuesdays, I'm up early for my morning F45 class. Waking up super early is a struggle some days but after I'm done my class I never regret it! Also after working out, I feel the need to eat healthy throughout the day so that’s always a plus. I’ll usually have some rice paper rolls for lunch. Tuesdays are usually very busy as well as I'm getting all my tasks done for the week. It involves a lot of skype meetings and answering emails but I love taking a little break to swing in our hammocks at work in between meetings. After work on Tuesday, I generally go to my parent's house for dinner which I really enjoy. Mum hates it when I miss family night!

Wednesday

Wednesday

Wednesday I'm usually up early and start vlogging for my YouTube Channel. We do some crazy funny stuff on there - it's definitely worth checking out! The most recent video we filmed involved making a cake using no hands, I mean, just imagine how messy that got! After shooting videos I’ll step in to shoot some pics for our workwear Executive Ponies workwear range. I love rocking cute work outfits and giving out girl bosses out there something to look forward to. Wednesdays I love #treatingmyself with a cocktail before making my way home and ordering some Uber Eats.

Thursday

Thursday

Thursday mornings I’m up bright and early again for F45, these classes are so good! Without these classes, it would be so hard for me to get motivated to work out. At work on Thursdays, I make the social briefs for our upcoming campaigns, that’s one thing I’ll never delegate to anyone, I love the whole social media aspect of Showpo – it’s essentially how we grew to what we are today so I hold it very near and dear to me. Since the weekend is right around the corner I’ll start making plans for it. This involves looking through our new styles online to see what I’ll wear. Most Thursday nights there are events in the city that ill attend with fellow Showpo girls. We always have the best time together!

Friday

Friday

On Friday’s I start my day by going down to my favourite local café and getting a toast and coffee, I always share some of my toast with our office dog, Fred. At work, ill make sure that all loose ends are tied up and that everything is finalised and completed. At 4:30pm we always have team meetings where the whole Showpo team sits together and we go through everything that happened throughout the week. My favourite part of these are the awards we do – basically, everyone gets nominated for outstanding things they’ve done and a winner gets selected. It’s a great way to spread positivity and make everyone feel loved. Fridays I'm always wearing my favourite outfits so that I'm ready to catch up for some drinks after work.
