Reformulating For Sustainable Success: Banyan Tree Essentials

Honing A Trademark for Responsibly Sourced And Cruelty-Free Products

The pursuit of sustainability has become a powerful path to reinvention for all businesses facing limits on their resources and the growing demand for environmentally and socially conscious goods and services. None have been as dedicated to building a truly sustainable brand and products than the award-winning hospitality group, Banyan Tree. While companies are just awakening to the idea of incorporating sustainability into their business model, they have been far ahead of the pack, having prioritised environmental and social responsibility right from the outset, since its founding in 1994.

This year, staying true to this vision to craft the best possible products and packaging for people and the environment, Banyan Tree Essentials introduces its newly reformulated line of natural, responsibly-sourced bath, body and home products. After a two-year review and reformulation process of the entire product line that extended throughout their value chain, the new formula now boasts products that are all composed of at least 95% natural ingredients, and sustainably sourced. Continued efforts are also being made to increase the amount of organic origin items that are ECOCERT-certified.

Their comprehensive range of premium products crafted with the environment in mind, from body lotions and shower gels to bath crystals and body butters are now completely free of harmful chemicals, including sulfates such as sodium lauryl sulfates (SLS), sodium lauryl ether sulfates (SLES) and the commonly used ammonium laureth sulfate (ALS). Colouring agents and unnecessary fragrances have also been done away with, replaced with mainly plant-derived alternatives to reduce chemical risk in bodies and make the products suitable for those with highly sensitive skin.

In a bid to minimise waste in the production and packaging process, all the bottles are made from PET recyclable plastic and printed in environmentally-friendly inks. All gift packaging have also been replaced with sustainable materials such as fabric wraps and tote bags made from recycled plastic bottles as well as gift boxes handmade from mulberry paper.

As the year comes to a close, why not pamper yourself by indulging in one of these consciously-made premium bath and beauty products from Banyan Tree. Here are our top picks from their newly reformulated line, perfect for either yourself or as a holiday gift to your dearest ones.
