Where to dine out this month.

Luke's Lobster

If you are looking for some comfort food that would please even Gordon Ramsey, then the newly-opened Luke's Lobster has to be it. Hailing from New York the menu is simple and offers just four options for rolls and two sides, making ordering pretty darn simple. There's the famed Lobster roll, crab roll, shrimp roll or a sample of all three. With portions erring on the generous side, the buns are grilled before being slathered with lemon butter, mayo and of course, Luke's secret dressing.  Sides come in the form of clam chowder or lobster bisque and there's an array of drinks for eat in or take-away options alike.

Avenue 87

The aim of Avenue 87 is to serve delicious well-loved Asian dishes from the two owners childhoods but with a modern take, as learned from their stints in restaurants including The Tippling Club. So what's on offer? Well, dishes include salmon tartare with sugar cane vinegar, pear and Vietnamese rice paper, duck rise with confit duck, yam rice and salted vegetables and pandan panna cotta done with butter crumble, coconut and palm sugar sauce. Yum.

Lemak Boys

Another restaurant taking traditional dishes and breathing a contemporary air into them is Lemak Boys. Brought to us by Les Amis Group, this trio, the Lemak Boys, use their Peranakan heritage as the starting point for dishes including nasi lemak which is jazzed up with chicken berempah, cendol pudding and gula melaka and coconut cream cake.
