It’s slated to open October 2020

While travel right at this minute might not totally be possible, by October it might be a whole new world. And boy, do we hope so as the Capella group have announced the opening of their very first property in Thailand.

Sitting along the Chao Phraya Estate, the 101 guest room, suite and villa property allows guests ideal access to the Chao Phraya River and Charoenkrung Road which, with its uber fashionable bars, cafes and art galleries, is one of Bangkok’s must-see places.

When it comes to aesthetics - you can expect Capella’s luxe touches and this new resort was designed by renowned architects Andy Miller and Richard Scott Wilson from Hamiltons International. Interiors are taken care of by BAMO, to fully encapsulate the resort within a city feel and give guests an essential piece of tranquility amongst the hustle and bustle. Rooms range from 61 sq. m to 595 sq.m with each one fitted with floor-to-ceiling windows and either a balcony or verandah to allow them to take advantage of their vicinity to the river. Plumped for a suite or villa? Well then lucky you, you get an outdoor jacuzzi plunge pool.

Think we are done? Not just yet as dining takes centre stage thanks to Côte by Mauro Colagreco, three Michelin-starred restaurant in France, Mirazur, claimed first place in “The World’s 50 Best Restaurant Awards” in 2019Then there’s Phra Nakhon offering alfresco Thai and Stella for breakfast and lunch patisseries.

Speaking of the launch, John Blanco, General Manager of Capella Bangkok said: “We are thrilled to be launching Capella Bangkok at Charoenkrung, an enchanting riverside enclave. In this stimulating setting, curious travellers will enjoy encounters that echo the past while being anchored in the present. We want to encourage learning and exploration, give back to the community and create emotional connections that stay with guests long after they check out.”
