Interview with Filipino-American rapper and record producer Apl.de.ap of the Black Eyed Peas on his humanitarian works.

“If you build it, they will come,” says Allan Pineda better known as Apl.de.ap. The co-founder of multi-Grammy award winning group, the Black Eyed Peas, drew from his own life experiences of growing up in poverty and wanting to go to school as a young boy living in Angeles City, Pampanga, Philippines. He founded Apl.de.ap Foundation, which now builds schools in his native country for the marginalised.

The Foundation is committed to equip Filipino youth with the knowledge and skills to improve their lives. This is through key partnerships with organisations whose focus are in computer technology, arts, and eye care.

In this video, Apl.de.ap talks to Singaporean entrepreneur and social advocate Elim Chew about the inception, other current and future plans for his foundation.
