Linked In: Watch Bracelets Make A Big Comeback

It's all about the bracelet.

Did all the watch designers across different brands have some sort of secret meeting we know nothing about? Because the sudden proliferation of bracelets on new watches is too coincidental to be just a coincidence, no? While these new watch bands have been met with mixed reactions, one thing’s for sure—bracelets are cementing the appeal of the sports luxe aesthetic, one link at a time.

LANGE & SÖHNE Odysseus

Much has been said about the German manufacture’s first new family of watches, and one of its most outstanding features has to be the new stainless steel bracelet. Comprising five links, the bracelet allows for incremental adjustment of up to 7mm without opening the buckle, thanks to a new pusher-activated safety deployant buckle.

BLANCPAIN Fifty Fathoms Automatique

When you’re underwater on a deep dive, the last thing you want is for your timepiece to be weighing you down. Blancpain pairs its Fifty Fathoms Automatique (and Grande Date) models with an ultra-light titanium bracelet for the first time. A patented system places the screws at the back of the links for a smoother look and, hence, more seamless flow between the case and bracelet.

BREGUET Marine

Following the combination of leather or rubber straps for the past few years, Breguet has updated its Marine collection with gold bracelets to match its new models—the silver dial variation gets a rose gold bracelet while the blue dial option is paired with a white gold bracelet. Both the lugs and first link of the bracelet are integrated to the case, while the links feature brushed surfaces and polished edges.

HUBLOT Big Bang Integral

Always one to challenge boundaries and take creativity to new heights, Hublot took a big step this year with its first Big Bang featuring an integrated bracelet. With the first link fused to the case, it meant the shape of the case had to be slightly altered too. Available in black ceramic, King Gold or titanium, the watch also comes in a limited edition All Black version in 500 pieces.
