Scentsational: Ermenegildo Zegna Essenze Eau de Parfum Collection

When it comes to scent launches, Ermenegildo Zegna went to new lengths at their recent Eau de Parfum Collection launch. Unveiled during the Salone del Mobile, Zegna and The Estee Lauder Companies teamed up with T H E U N S E E N to lead selected guests on a sensory experience that involved visualizing scents that can’t actually be seen. Sound complicated? Well, to put it more simply, the exhibition was spread across five cubic spaces, one per parfum, with each space providing a sensory experience through the use of colour so that one could visualise the emotions that come with particular scents – pretty clever.

Now, onto the actual scents. As we said before there are five new fragrances, with each individual one highlighting a unique ingredient. As with everything that Zegna do, these scents were made to the very highest specifications, using the finest and rarest ingredients sourced from around the world. Taking inspiration from their background of fashion, and in particular, the couture world, each scent has been painstakingly created by a master perfumer, or nose as they are often called, to ensure the finest, most balanced scents.

Speaking of the scents, the collection comprises of Mediterranean Neroli which uses neroli and estragon for a fresh, citrus scent backed up by warm saffron and smoky Incense.

Next there is Indonesian Oud which uses Zegna’s exclusive Italian Bergamot essence mixed with Rose, Patchouli, Amber and of course, Oud.

Madras Cardamom is the third scent in the collection and marks a crisp, spicy scent thanks to the afore mentioned exclusive Italian Bergamot, Cardamom, Coffee Santos and Vanilla.

Florentine Iris is the fourth scent and again makes uses of the stunning Bergamot, mixing Jasmine, Violet and Musk for a velvety, smooth scent.

Last but certainly not least is the Italian Bergamot. Using Zegna’s exclusive Bergamot as the highlight of the scent, Pepper, Rosemary, Neroli and Tonka Bean combine to give it a warm, aromatic finish.
